OUR RELISTING POLICY

We are always happy to hear from people interested in our eBay items, and we read all the email we receive from people interested in buying our items.  Please excuse this potted reply to your email asking if 1) we are going to relist an auction item after the listing closed with no buyers and 2) if you can buy an item after an auction listing closed with no buyers. We hope this FAQ will answer your question.

All 5000 of our one of a kind items are listed in our store where you can buy them at your leisure. You can search for the items in the store using the same titles you saw in the eBay auction listings for them. If for any reason you don't find something in the store that you're searching for, just email us and we'll be happy to help you.

We rarely run auctions. When we do run an eBay auction, we don't remove our corresponding store listing until we've received payment for the auction. In order to remain in business, we must keep our stock available to customers; we cannot empty our store just to sell items exclusively on eBay. We rarely relist the same auction item twice in a row. We've had so many nonpayers and collections issues via the eBay auction format over the years, that we had to stop using auctions as a source of revenue. We now run a handful of eBay auction style listings to advertise our store, and we don't consider auctions as a serious source of business other than as advertising.

When we put an item up for auction, our hope is that we will make more than the minimum bid price.  The whole purpose of an auction is to sell an item to the highest bidder.  Therefore, when we list an item in the auction format, we put it up for the absolute minimum price we consider in our professional opinion to be appropriate for that item.  In doing so, we have a lot of information:  what we paid for it, what the items sells for in the market, what it's "worth" in an efficient marketplace, etc.  The fact that it didn't sell is NOT a reflection of the worth or value of the item, it is simply an artifact of the eBay marketplace; there are literally millions of items available, and they are typically "on the market" for about a week.  The reason the item didn't sell is not that it's worth only a fraction of what we offer it for, it's because the right buyer didn't see it!  It's sort of like real estate:  you don't sell a fabulous house in a week - you wait for the right buyer who really loves it.

We have been selling on eBay for many years, and could tell you innumerable stories of items that sold after ten auctions or after months in a "store."  Sometimes they sell for several times the minimum bid after attracting no bids the first few times.  It sounds odd, but that's the way it is.  The item in which you're interested could be in that category.  It's easily worth more than what we listed it for at auction, and we will eventually sell it for that or more. In fact, its price in our store may be higher than the minimum bid we set for it at auction.   We invite you to watch our listings - items will undoubtedly be re-listed eventually, possibly for somewhat more than the original auction bid price, to help us recover the eBay fees and other charges.

Again, please forgive this impersonal reply.  You wouldn't believe how many people ask us about items after a listing ends, and we simply don't have the time to reply to them all.
